Want to withdraw your Provident Fund online? Here’s what you need to know

Most organisations offer Provident Fund (PF) to their employees as the retirement saving scheme which is backed by the government of India at a fixed interest on the total amount. The process is managed by a statutory body established by the government of India under the Ministry of Labor and Employment act called Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO). An Employee can make the withdrawal claim when in need or after retirement. In case you’re not aware, it has become easier to withdraw the Provident Fund amount directly to the bank account using the ‘Unified Member Portal’ website. To make things less complicated, EPFO has also replaced the multiple forms such as Form 19, Form 10C and Form 31 with a single page claim form that comprises of all the three above mentioned forms. Wondering where to find that withdrawal claim form or how to transfer the PF amount into your bank account, follow this step-by-step guide:
Make sure to verify your necessary details on the website
– Bank details, PAN and Aadhaar information must be enrolled on the website
Steps to follow
1.Visit the Unified Member Portal website or directly click on the link ‘https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/’ using your PC
2.Login using your UAN number and password
In case you do not have the UAN number click on the link ‘Activate UAN’ placed under the ‘Important link’ section and submit details like UAN, PAN, Name, DOB, mobile number, etc. and submit it. It will take around 24 hours to activate the UAN number.


3.Once logged in, the page will start showing the necessary information of the user
4.Click on the ‘Online Services’ option from the top menu bar and choose the option ‘Claim (Form 31, 19 & 10C).
5.Now, enter the last four digit of the bank account and hit the ‘Verify’ button
6.Once verified, scroll down and click on ‘Proceed for Online claim’ button
7.In the next form, scroll down and choose the option ‘Only PF withdrawal form’ from the list
8.Verify using Aadhaar OTP to register the request9.
Users can check the status of the claim by heading to the ‘Online Services’ section and clicking on ‘Check claim status’ option.
